Author of Fighting the Good Fight for Municipal Wireless (2006 Hudson House Publishing) and many in-depth analysis reports, Mr. Settles is a prominent thought leader on executing appropriate business strategies to deploy community broadband networks. Mr. Settles has presented before the FCC on broadband issues, and is a frequent speaker on maximizing the use of broadband and Internet technologies. He served as Dir. of Electronic Commerce for Metricom, whose Ricochet wireless Internet access service was the pre-cursor to today's municipal broadband networks.
