Nakdimon, an Israeli journalist, has compiled a detailed account of the complex events that formed the background for the still-controversial raid. The actual air strike is only a small part of the narration. The Machiavellian machinations of modern diplomacy and the point-counterpoint negotiations of the Israelis attempting to thwart Iraq's entry into the nuclear club make up most of the book.
