Very good. In a folding paper box. The second edition of Sprengel's history of the American Revolution, first published under a differing title in 1783. This edition has a larger map, but omits the plates found in that edition. The book was avidly read by the Rhinelanders as Hessian mercenaries returned from the War. Sprengel's books satisfied the increasing need of information about the United States and the new nation in Germany, especially after the return of the Hessian veterans, who fought in the Revolutionary War.
