The books are in very good condition: tightly bound with some wear to the extremities. The gilt edges are a little worn and the top edges are greyed. Foxing on the endpapers; the text blocks are generally clean; sporadic foxing but free of markings. ; 3 volumes In fine leather bindings. Gilt text and decorations on boards and spine, 5 rings on spine. Each book contains 64 engravings of religious paintings by well known artists; the illustrations are accompanied by text giving the religious context.
