Vol I 9 colour plates and 12 black-and-white each with captioned tissue guard, plus numerous illustrations in text; Vol II 9 colour plates and 18 black-and-white each with captioned tissue guard, plus numerous illustrations in text. Book Condition: Very Good. 2 volume complete matching set bound by Zaensdorf in half maroon calf over red cloth boards. 5 raised bands, gilt titles, gilt floral motifs to compartments, gilt ruling to edges, top edge gilt. Marbled endpapers with original retailer's ticket to ffep. Inner hinges weak to both volumes. Boards a little scuffed & soiled; bloom from over-enthusiastic application of polish to spines. Lower front joint starting (approx 1/2") and lower corners bumped to Vol I; upper corner of upper board worn Vol II. Sporadic foxing and fingermarking mainly to early/late leaves and guards. A very handsome set. Heavy, shipping outside the UK may require a contribution towards additional postage costs.
