Einband leicht berieben. - The concert program, extending over six days, presents a comprehensive look at contemporary computer music, featuring works from both internationally renowned composers and young talents. Over 600 works from around the world were submitted in response to ICMC 2000 s Call for Compositions. An international jury had the task of selecting works for inclusion in the concert program. Works were submitted to the jury in anonymous form and evaluated both on artistic and technical merit, with aesthetic considerations dominating. Jury members were allowed to submit works, but did not vote on their own submission or otherwise take part in the work evaluation. The jury also discussed works in depth to provide deeper insights into the reasons for the choices made The jury's results were collated and compiled by the Music Chair. The final program scheduling, including over 60 compositions as well as three installations was arranged by the Music Chair with a goal to providing an optimal situation for each piece selected by the jury. Three additional invited composions have been scheduled, each presenting work by pioneers of computer music: John Cage together with Lejaren Hiller, Gottfried Michael Koenig, and lannis Xenakis.
