Ralph Glasser was a Jewish boy from Glasgow, who grew up in poverty, before being offered a scholarship at Oxford. Poverty forced him to cycle the 400 miles to take up the place. He arrived at Oxford in 1938, just as the war clouds were gathering. This book contains his classic volumes, Growing up in the Gorbals, Gorbals Boy at Oxford, and Siren Songs. There is browning to the pages and a small amount of damage to the front cover. Otherwise a decent copy.
