Reiver Reads

Welcome to Reiver Reads. We are Carlisle's only radical and socialist bookshop with an emphasis on radical history, feminism, poetry, local history, politics and much more. we aim to create a safe space for discussion and debate in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We are based in Carlisle's historic market hall. The shop is run by myself, Rob in conjunction with my wife Kim We were established in 2023. We regularly host visiting speakers as part of our First Saturday series of talks. Previous speakers have included John Rees, author of The Fiery Sprits and local authors such as Christine Holt who spoke on the Quintinshill railway disaster of 1915
