Perhaps best known for his arresting celebrity portraiture, Gorman has also brought his playful, technically brilliant approach to successful advertising campaigns--such as the renowned award-winning L.A. Eyeworks series, for which he enlisted cult figures Divine, Grace Jones, Andy Warhol, Patricia Hearst, John Waters, and David Hockney--as well as numerous magazine layouts, album covers, and music video and commercial direction. Gorman has also earned an international reputation; exhibitions of his fine art photography have toured the world, and his work appears frequently in publications such as Detour, Max, GQ, Elle, Vogue, and American Photo.

Born in Kansas City and trained in photojournalism and cinematography, Gorman's most visible efforts are connected with the American entertainment industry. The films for which he has generated graphics and publicity include Dances with Wolves, The Big Chill, Courage Under Fire, Speed, and Tootsie, among other critically and publicly acclaimed projects. Kevin Costner, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Al Pacino, Kim Basinger, Better Davis, Dustin Hoffman, Barbara Streisand, Elizabeth Taylor, Warren Beatty, Robert DeNiro, Marlon Brando, and Jessica Lange are but a few of the cinematic talents who have posed before Gorman's camera throughout the years.

Greg Gorman attended the University of Kansas with a major in photojournalism. His graduate studies were done at the University of Southern California where he obtained a Masters of Fine Arts degree in cinematography. An internationally acclaimed photographer, Mr. Gorman's work is exhibited in galleries worldwide. He serves on the board of advisors for the Santa Fe Photographic Workshop where he conducts an annual seminar.

Inside Life is Mr. Gorman's third book release following Greg Gorman Volume I (1990) and Volume II (1992).

He currently resides in California with his dog Pepi.
