Item description from seller

Predominantly Francis Frith & Co. ("Frith's Series"), circa 1875–1890s. Formerly mounted in a souvenir photograph album, the three views tipped to both sides of a single album leaf. Ilfracombe — view from Compass Hill/Hillsborough toward Lantern Hill (St Nicholas' Chapel lighthouse) and Capstone, with a paddle steamer in the bay. Collotype (photomechanical) print with light silvering to the shadows, titled in ink below the image in a contemporary hand, no publisher's imprint visible. 26 × 31 cm (mount). Watersmeet, Lynmouth — the confluence of the East Lyn and Hoar Oak Water, with Watersmeet House. Photographic print bearing the "Frith's Series" imprint within the negative, lower left, and a reversed reference number reading approximately 12800 (placing the negative before 1886, most probably late 1870s). Titled in ink below the image in the same hand as no. 1. 16 × 26 cm (mount). Lynton and Lynmouth, from Hollerday Hill — panoramic view over the two villages and Lynmouth harbour from the high ground above. Photographic print with light silvering, unmarked, uncaptioned. 16 × 21 cm (mount). The photographs are in very good condition, with a touch of silvering only. The backing card has some nicks and closed tears to it. Card is 41cm x 31cm.
