Printed wrappers stapled, slightly dog-eared and dusty, a very rare survival. *The Bramber Museum, previously Potter's Museum, was started in 1861 by Walter Potter with a single exhibit - The Death of Cock Robin. Potter died in 1918 by which time, the museum had increased it's showing with a number of anthropomorphic stuffed animal exhibits and 'freaks of nature'. This catalogue described 19 such exhibits - The Kittens' Tea and Croquet Party : The Squirrels' Carousel : The Guinea Pigs' Cricket Match, for example. After 1918, the museum was run by Walter Potter's daughter and grandson, until in the 1970s, it was moved to Arundel and thence to Jamaica Inn in Cornwall in the 1980s. In 2003, the museum and exhibits were finally auctioned, despite a last minute effort by Damien Hirst who offered one million pounds for it all.
