12 mo, pp. 128 with original pictorial paper wrappers bound-in to fore. Quarter pebbled bottle-green cloth with gilt titles to spine and marbled paper-covered boards. Cloth a little rubbed at spine tips and edges worn. First blank inscribed with notes on "specially interesting local items" to verso and second blank inscribed "Local Railways: A List of Books Relating to Railways including many of the North-Country Guides, Handbooks, Plans &c, &c compiled by Stanley J G Cotterrell formerly resident at Summerville, Rothbury". Stamp dated July 93 to original wraps, which have minor loss to edge; marginal crosses in text. A good copy. Scarce bibliographical reference work listing early railway related material in detail, arranged chronologically by publication date within themed chapters covering lines, locomotion and reference books. Each publication is reviewed by the informed author in his own inimitable fashion, he has obviously handled and read the majority of the 416 publications listed.
