The Image Maker: A Collection of Poems

This collection of unique poems will stir your senses with the insight, intensity, and interconnection that comes from fifty years of working with and studying people. Dr. Colson’s poems cover personal events and the associated emotions to which we can all relate as they shape our lives. Each of the six sections - States of Mind, Relationships, Mourning, Nature, Ageing, and Faith and Spirituality - will put you in touch with a broad range of feelings, from anger, fear, and perplexity, to excitement, love, and passion.

Dr. Donald B. Colson was raised in Boston, Massachusetts, and worked for thirty-three years at the Menninger Clinic, conducting individual and group psychotherapy, doing research, and teaching. He went on to operate a private practice in Kansas City, Kansas, focusing on group and individual therapy and psychoanalysis. He is also the author of "A Patient's Guide to Psychotherapy: and an overview for Students and Beginning Therapists." He has three grown children, four grandchildren, and one on the way.
