Stated second edition, after the first published in 1916. Octavo, pp., 200, plus 32 full-page photographic plates, as called for. Collated and complete. Publisher's original navy blue cloth, titled in gilt to spine, borders in blind to boards. Corners bumped, shelf-wear to extremities, light cup-rings to upper board. Contents lightly toned but clean and neat. A very good copy. A scarce esoteric work of alternative medicine by a largely forgotten but influential practitioner of manual therapy. The author was a vegetarian, vitalist and advocate of naturopathic medicine who believed all diseases could be cured by dietary changes. This scarce volume describes his pioneering method of 'relieving congestion' from the connective tissues through massage.
