Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book introduces fundamental ideas from differential calculus, illustrated with practical examples, enabling readers to understand its methods and use them intelligently in their engineering, geometry, and physics work early in their university course. The author presents the basic concepts in a clear and accessible style, requiring only an elementary knowledge of algebra and trigonometry for their discussion. The book progresses from the meaning of differentiation through differentiation of algebraic functions, logarithmic differentiation, maxima and minima, and partial differentiation. The author explains how to apply the definite integral to evaluate areas, volumes, lengths of curves, and moments of inertia of solids of revolution. The text includes a range of examples and graphical illustrations to help readers develop a solid understanding of the subject. This book is an excellent starting point for students requiring an introduction to the calculus. Its insights can enhance readers' appreciation of how differential calculus has transformed our understanding of change and motion in the physical world. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
