This is a New Testament introduction that pursues historical questions dealing with authorship, date, sources, purpose, destination, etc., in all books of the New Testament, and gives an outline of each book with bibliographies of current studies.
About the Author
D. A. Carson (Ph.D., University of Cambridge) is research professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. He is the author or coauthor of over 45 books, including the Gold Medallion Award-winning book The Gagging of God and An Introduction to the New Testament, and is general editor of Telling the Truth: Evangelizing Postmoderns and Worship by the Book. He has served as a pastor and is an active guest lecturer in church and academic settings around the world.;Douglas J. Moo (Ph.D., University of St. Andrews) professor of New Testament, Wheaton College Graduate School. He is the author of the NIV Application Commentary 2 Peter and Jude.;Leon Morris (Ph.D. University of Cambridge) now in his retirement, was formerly Principal of Ridley College, Melbourne, and has served as Visiting Professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
