JAMES ROSENQUIST: Time Dust. The Complete Graphics, 1962-1992.

In many of his prints, James Rosenquist aims to pack the same power found in his billboard-size Pop paintings. Dense with multiple associations, spiked with surreal humor, his graphics reveal a virtuoso colorist and witty social satirist. In works like A Pale Angel's Halo , Welcome to the Water Planet , Time Stream and Waterspout , we also see a relentlessly inquisitive investigator of space-time and of human cognitive processes. Rosenquist has endured and flourished beyond his role as Pop visionary. Though best known for his paintings, his graphic work reveals a wealth of attention to technical detail; and the prints tell much about his approach to his subject matter.
