Vellum, gold filet border on front board, blind border on rear board, edges uncut, 8vo, 181 pp. Penzer identifies four different issues of this "second edition" of Richard Burton's anonymous translation of the Kama Sutra (the first edition having been issued in parts and the second being the first one in book form). He notes however that that there may well be more and that the publication date is not to be relied on. This copy seems closest to Penzer's fourth issue but does not correspond exactly to that. Vellum somewhat marked and slightly rubbed, minor dent to spine, agetoning to endpapers, edges spotted, otherwise Good.
