The narrator of the book is Katie's GrandDad, who, like Katie and Will, has made a good friend of Robert P. Rabbit.

GrandDad is a fun–loving, adventerous man with a kind, loving heart. He likes to spend much of his time playing, hiking, fishing and biking with his 10 grandchildren from the mountains of North Georgia to Mississippi to the Rockies in Colorado. He established the Larry Burkett Cancer Research Foundation to help raise money to fund cancer research, and to help children discover joy and adventure in their lives in spite of their condition. He is a story teller of the first degree.
