Item description from seller

FIRST EDITION, title-page vignette and headpieces to each section, these by Walter Holz, pages slightly browned throughout, ownership inscription at head of half-title, and then in pencil at foot of same and at head of title-page, half-title with a few faint spots, pp. xii, 113, [2], foolscap 8vo, original white wrappers printed in blue and black with a Holz vignette repeated to both covers, gentle crease to top corner of front, faint mark to the same, slightly nicked at ends of lower joint, the rear cover with a tiny patch of dustjacket adhering to bottom corner, very good. A scarce, and fragile wartime cookery book in which 'each recipe is supplied by a well-known personality' - these from the worlds of politics, sport, the theatre and art, as well as numerous authors, including Agatha Christie (her 'Mystery Potatoes' involving adding cream and anchovies, whilst 'Omelet Agatha Christie' employs shrimp and tongue).
