Illustrated by b&w numbered cookery utensils (2 pages rear) and explanations (1 page rear). unspecified edition. SA/74 9881. Yellow cloth with mother and child past-ons both boards, thick paper issue. 8vo. pp. 121, (3). Very Good. Foxing starting with slips of stains in a bright lightly soiled cover. (clipped newspaper tip on Victoria Sponge left in). Firsts were issued from 1920-22 and reprints until 1930’s Price Two Shillings. Records show three different covers at that time More specific dates were established via pages as follows: 118 Pages: Found in the standard first editions published around 1920 and versions that included custard powder cookery. 121 Pages: Issued in select first editions, such as the 1929 printing. 122 Pages: The most common page count for the standalone editions issued throughout the 1930s. 124 Pages: Issued in specific variants featuring an expanded index and additional product illustrations. 128 Pages: The total count for modern re-prints of the compilation (such as the version published by Ditzion Press). As an independent entity, Brown & Polson existed for 96 years (from its founding in 1840 until it was acquired in 1936). However, the brand name and its famous Paisley factory continued operating under corporate parent companies for much longer, lasting 162 years until manufacturing finally ceased in 2002.

We offer a large selection of covered and hand-bound blank books in our BINDERY category. We also accept commissions for wedding guest and event books. 4. Our newest category of reversible ornaments are made from original salvage book illustrations and available in our BINDERY Category and select retail stores and shows. 4. We have a massive assortment unique blank note cards created from recycled book illustrations with some sets available under our BLANK NOTE CARD Category but singles are sold only through our retail store locations and shows (check websites below). All book purchases receive one of our blank note cards with your order. 5. Husband and wife team appraisal of rare books, maps and prints for Probate, Donations and Insurance for individuals and institutions.
