(clipped newspaper tip on Victoria Sponge left in). Firsts were issued from 1920-22 and reprints until 1930's Price Two Shillings. Records show three different covers at that time More specific dates were established via pages as follows: 118 Pages: Found in the standard first editions published around 1920 and versions that included custard powder cookery. 121 Pages: Issued in select first editions, such as the 1929 printing. 122 Pages: The most common page count for the standalone editions issued throughout the 1930s. 124 Pages: Issued in specific variants featuring an expanded index and additional product illustrations. 128 Pages: The total count for modern re-prints of the compilation (such as the version published by Ditzion Press). As an independent entity, Brown & Polson existed for 96 years (from its founding in 1840 until it was acquired in 1936). However, the brand name and its famous Paisley factory continued operating under corporate parent companies for much longer, lasting 162 years until manufacturing finally ceased in 2002.…
