pp.xii, 115, with 16 hand-coloured plates. 8vo. Hardback. Bookplate to front pastedown. Contents in fine condition. Original decorative cloth in vg. plus condition with minor wear to outer casing of spine, also very gently faded. An artist and entomologist, Buckler trained at the Royal Academy and began a career as a portraitist and watercolourist. When the popularity of photography made portraiture unprofitable, he turned to natural history illustration.
