Dr. Robin Pauc is an Assistant Professor at The Carrick Institute at Cape Canaveral.  She specializes in child neurology, including learning disabilities like Dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, OCD, Dyspraxia and Tourette's syndrome.

At least one child in five experiences some form of learning disability, but, according to Dr. Robin Pauc, learning disabilities as they are understood in society, are culminations of treatable and avoidable symptoms.  She argues that all human babies are born prematurely in that they continue to develop special new brain cells four months after birth.  Every human's development in the womb and particularly in these early stages of life can, therefore, be affected by a developmental delay, which can create challenges during childhood, especially at school.  However, since our brains continue to develop, the symptoms can be treated.
