About this Item

Language: English. Approximately 364 pages. English: Print-on-demand reprint. Original edition : 1776. Text in English. This volume contains lecture notes taken by David Edwardes, likely in 1776, on various fevers and related medical conditions. The lectures, delivered by an unknown teacher, systematically address two classes of fever - intermittent and continual - and provide detailed accounts of symptoms, prognosis, causes, and cures for diseases including jail fever, remittent fever, West Indian yellow fever, smallpox, measles, scarlet fever, plague, ophthalmic fever, catarrhal fever, coughs, inflammation of the breasts, gastritis, enteritis, rheumatism, and gout. The text includes numerous references to a 'Dr. Gr.' and allusions suggesting a possible Scottish origin, though no definitive conclusions can be drawn. The work is structured with an introduction and an index, and the pagination shows some misalignment at page 157. Book images are non-contractual. This item is printed on demand and ships from our printing partners' facility nearest the destination. These facilities are located mainly in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada.
