Description:
Bound in leather, perhaps tree calf. iv, 379 pages. LACKING all preliminaries to the title page. Title page and on is collated and complete. A collection of theological lectures by this former Archbishop of Canterbury. In GOOD condition, with the aforementioned missing preliminaries. Minor scuffing and wear to the covers. Moderate scuffing and bumping to the extremities with minor loss of leather and some fraying to the head of the spine. Leather splitting along the upper half of the exterior hinges, not affecting the interior. Text block solid with some darkening along the extremities, a few lines and markings( both in pen and pencil) present to the text, mostly in the margins. Small piece missing from the lower fore edge of the title slightly affecting text. Ownership inscription on the rear inside cover and a small paragraph on the inside front cover on the life of Secker. Seller Inventory # 003420

More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Hinges are moderately cracked, exposing netting and causing boards to be loose. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper. Pen inscription to title page. Boards have moderate corner bumping and edge-wear with visible tanning, chipping and scuffing overall.
