(6), 133, (1) pp. Publisher's blue cloth, gilt lettered to the spine and with a matching device to the front board, all edges gilt, gift inscription to the Scottish philosopher and theologian Professor D.M. MacKinnon dated 1947 to the front free endpaper, above this a further gift inscription from MacKinnon to a Douglas Simpson dated 1962, an old colour label underneath both inscriptions. Frontispiece portrait. Mild rubbing to the extremities, very good.
