Ann G. Kramer, Ed.S. has been teaching people to create healthy Life Puzzles for over 15 years. Starting with a focus in nutrition, she continued to expand her knowledge base in a wide variety of areas as it became apparent that while people may not have been taught, they certainly did want to develop healthy, well-balanced lives. Her initial interest though was the recognition that she too had not been taught to create a balanced life.
As she says, "I could not believe that our lives were supposed to be get up, go to work, do the job, go home, feed the kids, go to bed and then get up to do it again. When I said that to a fellow co-worker at one of my first full-time jobs, he looked at me and said, "Yup, that's about itwhat were you expecting?" I looked back at him and said, "I'm not sure, but after doing everything I was supposed to dogo to school, get good grades, etc., I was sure it was going to be more interesting than this." He just shook his head at me and shrugged, "Nope, this is it." Realizing that this man already had 20 years in the system, but hated his job and his life, I though quietly to myself, "Well, I may not know what I do want, but I know that this is definitely what I don't want!"
From this early confrontation evolved the concepts of Life Puzzle-makingfirst for her own life and now, hopefully, for yours. This book is the accumulation of all the energy and time spent learning what is necessary to create a Life Puzzle.
Her educational background has been useful in this work. She has degrees in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Masters in Early Childhood Development from Old Dominion University and a Masters and Ed.S. in counseling from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Today, Ann owns her own business, Good 4U Inc. She maintains a small, private counseling practice as well as corporate clients, providing lifestyle education programs, such as stress management, lifestyle nutrition and Life Puzzle-making. Life Puzzle-making is based in self responsibility and helps people redesign their lives from the linear "get up, go to work, go home, feed the kids, go to bed and then get up to do it again", to one that is a holistic and on-growing life journey.
