Illustrated by 21 pages of black and white and colour plates, including frontispiece, by 62 other plates paginated in text and by numerous text figures. Decorated by title page vignette and by initials. Last revision and enlargement of an extensively illustrated standard work on the history of ornamental design in architecture and the applied arts. Richard Glazier (1851-1918) was Head of the Manchester Municipal School of Art for twenty six years from 1892 and was particularly concerned with the application of art to industry.
