A facsimile of the author Fritz Leiber's signature in black is also present on the colophon. Fritz Leiber (1910-1992) was one of the leading writers in the field of Sword and Sorcery, along with Howard and Moorcock. Through his Fafhrd and Gray Mouser duo he established many tropes of the genre, spreading their adventures over five decades. This collection compiles 33 of Leiber's best science fiction short works, including the 1970 Hugo Award-winning novelette 'Ship of Shadows' (1969) and the 1976 Hugo and Nebula Award-winning short story 'Catch That Zeppelin!'
