12mo. 5.75 x 3.75 inches. 374 pp. COPY LACKS TITLE AND ENGRAVED TITLE PAGES. Bound in later half green morocco, gilt, over marbled boards. Edges darkened and occasional scattered foxing, but otherwise a very good copy. Pocket edition of the account of the royalist and anti-republican uprising in the Vendee (1793-1832). By the Marquise de La Rochejaquelein (1772-1857), wife of one of leaders of the royalist risings in the south west. English translation first published by Constable, 1816, second edition 1817.
