Extremities worn and plates foxed as usual; otherwise a good copy. Illustrated by portrait frontispiece, engraved title with vignette and 10 engraved plates. The first two sections are concerned with the veterinary care of horses. Part III includes a historical survey of the English racehorse and famous owners, concluding with advice on breeding, purchase and feeding. Part IV is a systematic list of medicines. This first edition of 1838 is scarce; COPAC records only two copies, in the British Library and Glasgow.
