This handbook teaches young readers how to make things disappear and do other amazing feats with coins, paper clips, and napkins--over 100 tricks in all are explained in simple, step-by-step, colorful photos. With just a few props, lots of practice, and this how-to book, young magicians can learn to fool the eye and confuse the mind of an audience.

Grade 3-6. This collection provides step-by-step instructions for each trick accompanied by occasional line drawings. Even though each entry has a heading entitled "Object of Trick," it is difficult to figure out what the outcome should be without actually completing the steps. The various sections of the book are clearly set off through the use of different colored pages. For example, the red section features disappearing acts; the blue is devoted to card and coin tricks, etc. With so many magic books on the market today, this one is hardly a priority purchase.?Rachel Fox, Port Washington Public Library,
