A Manual of the Medical Botany of North America by Laurence Johnson, William Wood & Company, New York, 1884, nine color plates, 292 pp, original mustard cloth, 9.75 x 6.25 , 8vo. In good condition. Light wear to extremities with modest soiling to surface of cloth. Light staining overall to cloth with darkening from time and use. Spine darkened with crushing to ends. Corners rubbed. Ex-libris of Marcus M. Johnson, M.D. of Hartford, Connecticut on pastedown. His signature dated Dec. 29th, 1884 on fly in manuscript. Front plate description torn with loss at center. Offsetting from colored plates throughout. Light toning with continual scattered foxing. Free of known markings. Binding remains intact. Please see photos. A rather scarce American colorplate work of medical botany. a title in Wood's Library of Standard American Authors. Among other things, Johnson was a lecturer on medical botany at the Medical department of the City University of New York.
