A large an informative map of North America, showing California as an island. Mexico is seen extending northward into modern day America, whilst all parts to the north of that point are labelled "parts unknown". With a decorative rococo style title cartouche. The trade winds are shaded and the Spanish treasure routes are engraved. From Rapin's Continuation of Mr Rapin's History of England. Size: 400 x 520 mm. Copperplate engraving with later hand colour. Fair condition. Folding map, with a false top margin.
