Limited edition, one of 58 copies, inscribed by Max Ernst and Dorothea Tanning; large 8vo; 11 full-page black and white lithographs by Max Ernst, a further 11 black and white reproductions in appendix, of which one is mounted in-text, light toning to leaves, else unmarked internally; publisher's green pictorial wrappers, unevenly sunned, light creasing to extremities, some loss to spine and corners, rear panel slightly marked, else very good. Inscribed by Max Ernst and his wife Dorothea Tanning to the artist Enrico Donati: 'a Enrico Donati très cordialement Max Ernst' / 'et amitiés de Dorothea Tanning, sa femme'. This volume comprises text by Bousquet entitled A la Hauteur des Yeux, 11 black and white drawings by Ernst to illustrate an unpublished text of Bousquet's Absolument ou le Vide a l' Envers, and Michel Tapié's text Max Ernst, Plasticien du Monde et Perturbateur des Classes du Reel.
