'The work met with a favourable reception from the medical profession and the public in general. It remained the standard work illustrating the plants of the British Pharmacopoeia for almost one hundred years.'- Henrey. A clean set, some very occasional light foxing to the odd text leaf, and toning to the odd plate. Contemporary half calf, the marbled boards rubbed, but quite sound. Some hinges neatly repaired.
