Karin L. McGowan, Ph.D. is professor in the departments of pediatrics and microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and director of the laboratory of clinical microbiology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Mindy G. Schuster, M.D. is professor of medicine and infectious diseases at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
