[Mediaeval History] FINELY BOUND AND ILLUSTRATED. Small quarto (27 x 20cm), pp.[2] xx; 504 [2]. With 14 colour plates, including a frontispiece, and more than 400 in-text wood engravings. Recently re-bound in red morocco, with raised bands, gilt titles and decoration to spine, and the original publisher's cloth over boards, showing titles and decoration in black and gilt to upper. All edges untrimmed. Moderate spotting to first and final few leaves, otherwise internally clean. Presented in an attractive, new leather binding. Very good.
