This edition includes information on apples and grapes, arborculture and floriculture, animal husbandry, poultry, taxidermy, a 'hay elevating apparatus,' a column on hygiene with information on scarlet fever, manners and etiquette, news from the War Dept on the Franco-Prussian War, articles on Jules Favre and the Empress Eugenie with portraits, games and puzzles, and advertisements.
