An early London printing of the French Revolutionary Declarations Of Rights. The Declaration Of The Rights Of Man And Of The Citizen was written in the summer of 1789, following debates in the Constituent Assembly. Its seventeen principles are recorded here and set out the "natural and inalienable" rights, which are freedom, ownership, security, resistance to oppression; and it recognises equality before the law and the justice system, and affirms the separation of powers.
