Burke and Wills relief expedition, the second volume being largely devoted to the journals of William Landsborough and Frederick Walker. The Royal Society's Report contains the Exploration Committee's apologia for their conduct of the expedition, for which they were severely censured by the Royal Commission appointed to enquire into the causes of its disastrous conclusion.
