About the Author

Martin Carnoy is Professor of Education and Economics at Stanford University. His work has appeared in Dollars and Sense, The American Prospect, Education Week, and Tikkun. Richard Elmore is Gregory R. Anrig Professor of Educational Leadership at Harvard University.
