Jonathan Nash Hearder (1809-1879) was a Plymouth electrical engineer who contributed significantly to the development of the induction coil. In 1850 he was consulted on the Atlantic telegraph cable and proposed several improvements. This paper was read at the Plymouth Institution in 1859 and discusses advancements in submarine telegraph cables. Octavo (217 x 137 mm). Contemporary brown wrappers. In a red cloth chemise.
