About this Item
Half titles, folding map. vol. I. Uncut & largely unopened in orig. red sand-grained cloth, boards blocked in blind, spines lettered in gilt; spines skilfully repaired at heads & tails. See Trollope Society Catalogue 15; see Sadleir 14. Reset in smaller format. Written in contrast to his mother's observations on America, which he describes in his introduction as 'essentially a woman's book'. He is far more forgiving of the American way of life, views the American Revolution as a necessary event, and gives credit to the America culture where his mother could not. Seller Inventory # 66444
