Your Number's Up

"Beware temptation" Life in the vibrant city of Bangkok is challenging and exciting for a young student like nineteen year old Mel, a recent escapee from humdrum suburbia. Her new found freedom is scary but intoxicating. Every decision is now down to her. Temptation is everywhere and it can take many forms. Mel is far away from home and totally unprepared for the moarl dilemma that confronts her when temptation suddenly shows its hand. One simple act could make all her dreams come true. She tells herself that she wouldn't really be doing any harm, that anyone else would do the same. But this decision leads Mel into another world, one where she unwittingly becomes entangled in a dangerous game of passion and possession, putting not only her future dreams of happiness but her very freedom in jeopardy.

The author, Carole Lees, writes under the pen name C J Lees. Originally from rural Hertfordshire in the UK, she has lived in South-west France with her husband since 2001 and works in the private sector teaching English and French. Always fascinated by the way our lives can twist and turn in totally unforeseen ways just because of one decision or action, she was inspired to write her first novel, "Your Number's Up", which explores the challenges we all face in life and the unforeseen repercussions of temptation in all its many forms. Since then she has written a second book, "Turnaround", questioning how far we will go when we believe that those we love are under threat and whether our actions can always justify the means.
