The purpose of this book is to present businesspeople, especially those with little formal training in marketing, with demographic and psychographic data and organize it in such a way that so they can be apply it to their own businesses. This is one of the few books that serves two masters and yet serves them both well. It is a how-to manual with the first four chapters delineating the nature and scope of demographic and lifestyle information. Subsequent chapters are sourcebook-oriented, organizing data on major trends including working women, the aging populace, and the growing Hispanic market into workable modules. Simply and effectively written, this volume is highly recommended for marketing collections.
