8vo. 7.25 x 5.25 inches. 279 + [1] pp. colophon. Bound in red pictorial cloth, gilt, with gilt local authority seal on rear board. Wear to extremities, including corners and head and tail of spine, and a little foxing and staining; otherwise a very good copy. 1908 school attendance prize label on front pastedown. Illustrated by 6 colour plates. A school story by Charles Harold Avery (1867-1943), a children's author who specialised in this genre of literature for boys. FICTION EDUCATION LIT. Founded by Patrick Marrin's father George in 1946, Marrin's Bookshop has been based in its current Folkestone location since 1963. Patrick has worked in bookselling since 1970. As well as rare antiquarian books, maps and prints, the stock includes a wide range of literature, library sets, travel, history and illustrated books in all fields. We also offer a bookbinding and restoration service. Visitors to the shop are welcome and we exhibit at UK book fairs.
