Original vintage travel poster issued by Air Ceylon - Fly the Sapphire Service to London - featuring artwork by Mart Kempers (1924-1993) depicting a busy London city street scene with a delivery van, a taxi laden with tourist luggage and passengers sitting on an iconic red double decker bus in the foreground, lit up the glowing street lights with a clock on the buildings in the background, a plane flying by the bold title text in the night sky above and the Air Ceylon logo below. Founded in 1947 Air Ceylon was the national flag carrier until 1979; it was replaced by by Air Lanka (now Sri Lankan Airlines). Printed in the Netherlands by Kuhn En Zoon, Rotterdam.
