Immediate dispatch from Somerset. Set of 3 Journals. Nice book in great condition. Pages in excellent condition. No notes or highlighting. See images. Fantastic book. About the book >.>.> Newsletter 8 was the start of The Redan that members know it today, it came out in September 1986 in the form of a folded A4 booklet; the opening sentence announced that the Society was a fully registered charity. It contained the first article on a fortification by Mr David Moore on Fort Fareham with two plans by way of illustration; there was as well the usual details of Society meetings, news and work parties. The pattern was set for articles on local fortifications and detailed research into Fort Nelson itself. The next year saw the Newsletter being published in February June and October and this set the schedule for the succeeding years until 2006. Newsletters 9 and 10 had articles illustrated with plans on Browndown Battery, Lumps Fort, the two Eastney Batteries and Fort Purbrook all by Mr David Moore: in addition there were armament returns for Fort Nelson for the last three decades of the nineteenth century.
